Is there anything better than a juicy (or crispy!) bacon sandwich on a slow, Sunday morning? Or the comforting site of a massive pile of pigs-in-blankets on your Christmas dinner? Or maybe you’re a fan of the trusty ham sandwich?

Why are you asking me so many questions about food?

Here at Tulip, we are the masters of bacon sandwiches, pigs-in-blankets, ham sandwiches and all things pork.

We provide a wide range of quality, cost-effective and innovative products to the retail and foodservice sectors. Think big-league, like M&S, Tesco and Aldi, just to name a few…

OK great, but why would I want to work for a meat manufacturing company?

So, the name Tulip doesn’t exactly scream ‘meat’. We get it. But we really are the experts in this industry. We’re also experts when it comes to giving graduates a career that they can be really proud of.

The food industry is a great place to work. It is fast-paced, full of opportunity and provides you with new challenges every day. Plus, there’s lots of food to try. All the time.

We employ around 7,000 members of staff across 17 sites in the UK and every colleague plays a very important part in ensuring we make and sell high-quality, delicious food to families around the UK. A special part of our Tulip family is our graduates.

Each year, we look for 5-10 exceptional graduates to join our Graduate Management Development Programme.

What is the Tulip Graduate Management Development Programme?

Our Graduate Management Development Programme is aimed at graduates who aspire to be future industry leaders. It is a two-year, rotational programme, which means you will spend time at a number of our sites throughout the UK, so flexibility is key. Across the two-years we will help you to unlock your leadership potential so that you are ready to take up a managerial position with us when the programme is over.

All our graduates benefit from:

  • A £25,000 starting salary

  • A permanent contract from day one

  • Fast-tracked career development

  • Excellent staff discounts on retail, travel and food

  • Free staff car parking

  • Wellbeing support

  • Bespoke coaching and mentoring

  • Great colleagues!

  • And so much more…

We are looking for the very best graduates from any degree subject. All we ask is that you have obtained (or are expecting to obtain) a 2:1 degree or higher, are comfortable working in manufacturing, factory environments, have flexibility in terms of location, and love food!

I want to apply!

Great! We open applications around November each year, and all graduates will begin in September the following year. You can see if applications are currently open by visiting

Our application process is as follows:

Stage 1: Initial application form – we ask you a few simple questions to find out how enthusiastic you are about working for Tulip, and we will also ask you to upload your CV

Stage 2: Online numerical, psychometric and verbal reasoning testing

Stage 3: Skype interviews

Stage 4: Assessment centre

Stage 5: Offers made! We aim to make all offers by the end of March, so that you can relax over the summer and prepare for the start of your career with us

Top tips for applying

Without giving too much away, here are the five top tips we would give to a graduate during the application process:

  1. Be enthusiastic – we need to know that you really, really want to work in this industry

  2. Read all the application questions properly

  3. If you’ve been booked in for a Skype interview, make sure that your equipment works beforehand, and don’t be late

  4. Ask questions – this process works two-ways and it’s your chance to find out if weare right for you

  5. Don’t talk over everyone else at the assessment centre, but at the same time, don’t let yourself be lost in the crowd

Don’t just take it from us, listen to what one of our graduates have to say…
